Whether you’re rooting for the New England Patriots, the Seattle Seahawks or just watching for the most anticipated commercials of the year, the Super Bowl is definitely a game of numbers. From the Roman numerals that denote this as Super Bowl XLIX (the 49th annual event), to the millions of dollars it costs to run a 30-second commercial, and the billions of dollars wagered legally and illegally on the big game every year.

The Super Bowl also has a potent impact on society, with social media and personal interactions almost always started with, “Hey, where are you going to watch the game?” There’s rarely a need to explain which game is in question.
